Chronos Backups Privacy Policy

Chronos Backups (“Chronos”, “we”, “us”) is an open-source Minecraft mod by MagicJinn. Optional Google Drive sync uses Google's standard installed-app OAuth flow. Chronos does not collect any more data than that default Google Drive OAuth integration requires for the scopes and APIs we request.

Who this applies to

This policy covers the Chronos Backups Google OAuth client and the mod's optional Google Drive backup feature. It does not cover Google's own services. Google's handling of your account and Drive data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Data we access

Only if you enable Google Drive sync and complete authorization:

• Google account authorization. OAuth tokens needed to call the Google Drive API on your behalf (standard Google OAuth credentials for an installed application).
• Drive files created by Chronos. We request the drive.file scope. Chronos may create, read, update, list, and delete files and folders that Chronos itself created in your Google Drive (your Chronos backups and related folders). Chronos cannot access other Drive files you did not open or create with this app.
• Backup contents you choose to sync. World backup archives or folders produced by Chronos on the machine running the mod or server, uploaded to your Drive when sync is enabled.

How that data is used

• Authenticate with Google Drive after you approve access.
• Upload finished Chronos backups to your Google Drive.
• List Chronos backup files for sync and retention.
• Delete older Chronos backups on Drive when your config caps how many to keep.

We do not use this access for advertising, analytics, or profiling.

Where data is stored

• On your machine: OAuth tokens are stored locally under google-drive-tokens/ on the computer or server running Chronos.
• In your Google account: Uploaded backups live in your Google Drive.
• Not on our servers: Chronos does not operate a backend that receives your backups, Google tokens, or Google profile data. Uploads go from your machine to Google.

Sharing and sale of data

We do not sell your data. We do not share your backups or tokens with third parties, because we do not receive them. The only third party involved in Drive sync is Google, when your client talks to Google's APIs under your authorization.

Anyone with access to your machine or the local token folder can use those tokens to manage Chronos-created Drive files for that link. Protect that environment accordingly.

Your choices

• Leave googleDriveEnabled off. No Google OAuth or Drive API use occurs.
• Revoke Chronos in Google Account permissions.
• Delete the local google-drive-tokens/ folder.
• Delete Chronos backup files from your Google Drive in the Drive UI.

Changes

If what we access, store, or request from Google changes, we will update this page and the “last updated” date.
